Joshua Cheng

Josh Cheng has returned to us from England after spending the last four years working as a senior podiatrist for an elite medical sporting clinic in Manchester where he treated Sports Stars from Manchester City, was part of the team that provided the medical services for Wigan Warrior Rugby League (premiers in 09/10 and winners of Challenge Cup in 2011) as well as looking after many Olympians leading up to the games. Josh’s special interest is biomechanical analysis and correction using orthotic therapy, joint mobilisation, trigger point therapy and strengthening the muscles of the feet to achieve rapid relief and lasting results from foot and ankle pain.

Josh’s expertise is getting the best biomechanical foot function to improve sports performance as well as help to fix biomechanical issues high up the legs, including knee pain and hip pain that has not resolved with regular treatment.

Veronica Lee

Podiatrist in Carlisle and Carousel Podiatry

Veronica completed a Bachelor of Podiatry at Queensland University of Technology in 2019, after completing Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Bachelor of Health Studies.

Veronica is passionate about holistic health care and how good foot care can influence her patient’s overall health. She is a strong believer in holistic care and loves to get to know her patients. She believes that listening and understanding of other aspects of a patient’s life can contribute to an effective delivery of podiatry care. She enjoys working in all aspects of Podiatry, with particular interest in diabetic foot care and sports biomechanics.

Before graduating, Veronica also worked at a private Podiatry clinic in the high-end and expats-oriented area in Malaysia, for a total of 8 months which she misses so much. She hopes that one day, she will return to her country and hometown to introduce Podiatry and to raise more awareness of what Podiatry can offer. Her goal is everyone can afford Podiatry services especially patients with diabetic foot ulcers.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking new recipes, a foodie who loves exploring new foods with her loved ones, shopping, participating and volunteering in church activities.

On the other hand, she can also communicate in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Bahasa Malaysia.

We look forward to seeing you in clinic.

Shane Toohey

Shane Toohey

Podiatrist at Carlisle

My focus for over 20 years has been in the treatment of lower limb sporting injuries and chronic pain. There have been incredible breakthroughs recently that make my work so exciting. I look for partnerships with clients about working together to the next level for them.

These days I do not provide routine foot care like the management of skin and nail conditions. Nor do I accept EPC referrals.

I provide advanced orthotic therapy, using the only foot scanning equipment in Australia able to accurately capture the individual foot shape suitable for digital modelling for 3D printing and/or milling softer devices.

I train with eminent doctors from the US on breakthroughs in practical dry needling, particularly with those with elite sporting affiliations. These same techniques are what works best for chronic pain conditions. I share my skills providing training for podiatrists.

I have taught within podiatry in Australia, UK, Ireland regularly and elsewhere in Europe and Asia. This included 18 years lecturing part-time at Curtin University and 8 years at UWA and numerous conference presentations. I am Managing Director of Artisan Orthotic Laboratory.

I was team podiatrist for Perth Glory for 5 years and always had affiliations with sporting teams and provided voluntary treatment for underage and community AFL teams for over 20 years.

I’ve also worked with sundry athletes, including track up to international level. I’m happy to discuss your lower limb problems and see if we can work together for your personal breakthroughs.
